Republicans want to institute work requirements for Medicaid recipients — and they’re willing to hold the U.S. economy hostage to do it. They’ve been refusing to raise the debt ceiling unless Democrats agree to enact a policy nationwide that would force people to prove they work in order to qualify for Medicaid. The policy would harm millions of Americans. We know because it’s happened in Arkansas already.

We went to Arkansas to see the true human cost of their proposal and understand what this plan would mean for the 85 million Americans who depend on Medicaid.
