Building power for working people

Baskin Robbins Cake Makers Expose Brutal Working Conditions

Over 100 mainly Latina immigrant workers walked out over brutal working conditions and low pay.

Workers who make cakes for Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone are forced to work 12-14 hours each day. They make 13+ cakes every minute and receive only 3 sick days a year. Workers say they’ve developed arthritis & been denied time off for cancer treatments. Now 100+ mainly immigrant Latina workers are on strike.

The workers make cakes for Jon Donaire Desserts—owned by Rich Products—which distributes to Baskin Robbins, Cold Stone Creamery, Safeway, and more. Rich Products raked in $4 billion in revenue in 2020.
